Will I get the same effects of binuaral beats if I sleep during it?

Binuaral beats are a "digital drug" that supposedly can give you a natural high and help with lucid dreams (trippy stuff!) just by listening to them.
Will I get the same effects of this if I am listening to it through the headphones while I am sleeping?

That’s a good question…you would have to block out all senses; you’d have to use a sense-depriving isolation tank to be completely successful.
Binaural beats or binaural tones are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, the perception of which arises in the brain independent of physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove.
Today, The Monroe Institute explores various aspects of this. TMI is a nonprofit education and research organization devoted to the exploration of human consciousness, based in Faber, Virginia. Over the last three decades, many people have attended TMI’s residential programs, and used Monroe Products trademarked Hemi-Sync audio technology for various purposes, including meditation, lucid dreaming, and remote viewing.
TMI’s training facilities were used by the U.S. military as part of their remote viewing project called, "Stargate Project". The Institute also has an outreach program, where they travel to various locations around the world and deliver the "Gateway Voyage" program. The most notable of these locations is "IONS" in Petaluma, California where the author and parapsychologist Dean Radin does his research on this subject. He would be the one to contact with your questions.
