It's common. Some people don't notice it, some do. It actually happens to most people, but some notice it more. You can have your doctor fit you with a 24 hr monitor or even do a stress test if it would make you feel more safe. Chances are though, you are just throwing some pvcs from the stress of exercise. As long as they don't run in strings, it is ok.

I'm not a doctor but you need to go see one ASAP. Don't fool around with something that serious. We want you around for a long time. ;-)

I started getting an irregular heartbeat in my teens. I had it most of my life, although it never changed my lifestyle any-I was always active. About 10 years ago my doctor started giving me a drug called Ziac. It reduced my blood pressure and made may heart beat regular. My heart is still normal today at the age of 55. You should maybe ask your doctor about it. I actually went to a heart specialist at first to find this out.

hey! dont be nervous and dont quit ya exercise i tell you for why. Your heart yes it is a pump but skipping beats as you explain them is when your heart has just worked out it is beating to fast and is trying to correct itself , before it makes you ill. It does this at the base of the brain by a process called Homeostasis ( keeping everything the same), it does this to keep everything the same. It is good it is skipping a beat as if it dont do that and keep at the constant fast speed it will give you a heartattack. But due to skipping beats this will not happen, as your brain has realised something is wrong and is doing sumat bout it! So far that is concerned normal!
It is normal for anyone to have this experience while exercising.
At 40 pounds overweight it is normal what you are experincing
There is a chance when you are overweight that you are at more serious risks from heartattacks what i recommend you to do is go up ya doctor and source some information
But i hope i helped

Definitely talk to your doctor about this one. I thought I had an irregular heartbeat too, though it seemed to happen to me when I was resting in bed more often than when excercising. They weren't able to find anything wrong with me but said irregular heartbeats are serious and to let them know if it continued. I've since lost about 15 lbs and don't seem to have the same experience anymore. Definitely lose the weight if you can, but get some tests done first - if you really do have an irregular heartbeat its bad news and should be addressed / monitored.

Either ask your family doc to refer you to a cardiologist, or ask your family doc to refer you for a treadmill/stress test - They will hook you up to an EKG and put you on a treadmill and watch what your heart rate and rhythm do.

If it's a consistent issue (if it happens EVERY time you exercise) it's definitely in need of review by your docs.

Time to pass along the advice of my Cardiologist:

"Don't overdue it!"

Slow the walk down and don't try to get in shape all at once. Your heart needs to get used to exercise and get in shape too. It's not a mechanical pump that you can set to any speed.
