Where did the term “the Dirty South” originate?

I feel like it’s from a song or something because I have only been hearing it the last year or so.

The word Dirty South originated in Atlanta, Georgia by Goodie Mobb in a song.
Goodie Mob’s debut was the Gold-certified album Soul Food in 1995. Produced by Organized Noize and critically acclaimed. It was on this album that the phrase Dirty South was actually coined, with a song of that same title.
