what would a cardiologist be looking for if the heart is skipping several beats in a day, even if you are not Stressing the heart or if you are just resting. Could it be some sort of blockage? Or could it be that you may need a pacemaker?

The most common cause of PVCs (premature Ventricular contractions followed by missed beats) is excessive coffee intake.
Pacemakers are only indicated in heart block. There are three types of heart blocks. To be more precise, pacemakers are only indicated in complete heart block where there is complete disassociation between the p-wave and the QRS complexes.
