What rapper has the most years between his first classic album and his last classic album?

You can count rappers that have a classic album as part of group and as a solo artist if that makes a difference.
Also, could you tell me if you think the rapper you chose is top 5 all-time? I’m just wondering how that correlates.

Well QTip's Renaissance is being hailed as Classic from some people I'm not too sure myself but that would make 1991 - 2008.
I'm going to go with Masta Ace - Take a Look Around (1990) to Long Hot Summer (2004).
Neither is probably Top 5 but both are 5 star MC's IMO.

LL Cool J. Used to be a GOAT contender but we are still waiting on that next classic.
He is not in my top 5

KRS1
"By All Means Necessary" and we're still waiting while suffering through 1 dreadful release after another.
No, he's not top anything.

I'd have to say Dr. Dre, even though he's not primarily a rapper.
Straight Outta Compton (1988) and 2001 (1999). As an ARTIST, not as a rapper on the album.
11 years.
EDIT: Dr. Dre is far from top 5 rappers obviously. But top 5 hip-hop artists - maybe.

Rakim, I believe it took him 10 years to excuse himself and make what is in my opinion near a classic, there’s no excuse for an emcee of such passion and quality. Rakim is top 3.

it was ten and a half years from his first classic to his most recent classic for Common who released the album Resurrection in October of 94' and Be which dropped in May of 05'.
I do think that Common is top 5, in between those two classics he had two more ("One Day" and "Like Water") which are not acclaimed as highly as Be and Resurrection have been in recent years.

Gotta side with Chuck Norris on this one KRS-One is a legend and classic. Even though he has had some hit and misses he has had some classics. He's definitely the winner of this award.
Can you feel the "love" Chuck?

Snoop, but he has yet to make an album as good as Doggystyle.
Some might disagree, but i think Jay z is in the top 5.
