What is the state of hip hop right now?

Okay i see people be digging Drake and Kid Cudi right now. I have not really heard their music but to all my real hip hop heads out there is the state of hip hop pretty ill right now or what? I am not feeling this new ish to be honest. I feel the game has lost it’s hardcore lyrical flow. Right now the rhymes be a bit too plain and not complex and poetic right now so I am asking Is hip hop still ill or has it’s lost it’s touch?

Hip Hop isn’t dead… it’s just in a coma.

Depends to who you listen to. Eminem and 50 didn’t lose their lyrical touch. The beats have just started to become old.

now shut up about it and try looking at proper artist rather then complain about those you dont like

well hip hop’s definetly not in a state of 911 anymore with raekwon and meth and red and eminem coming out with his albums busta ryhmes is back nas seems to be more active dr dre with his new album the detox And Kid Cudi is currently the best out there i would say his album (Man on the Moon) was a instant classic and rakim suppose to be coming out with a new album and lil wayne might be going to jail so wayne will be gone for about 8 months which hopefully wud be enough time to bring rap to the amazing state it was in back in like 1985-2003 but right now its in a state of having 911 on speed dial

Kid Cudi does more of alternative hip hop, and Drake has some lines, but he doesn’t have a unique flow or anything. I personally find my self finding years old songs that are new to me better than the mainstream music.
