If it's electronic music (electronica, hip hop or whatever) get a program called Reason (look it up). Awesome professional sound. Burn to cds etc.. the package will cost you about $400 though. If you're recording guitar etc.. you could use Garage Band for Mac. Free software for macs. Great package though. Either way it's going to be alot of work if it's going to sound good.
