Not so much the region as it is the artist. Every coast has gangsta rappers, every coast has "hip hop-lyrical" rappers and ect.
People that really understand rap understand that fact.

The sounds and the lyrics. Most beats won’t sound the same if they’re from different areas.

thats like asking "what’s the difference between New York Texas and California"?. they have different cultures, different accents, different ways of life etc.

IN BEATS, STORIES…if you listen to the beats, they’re different, west is more like gangsta stuff, east is like old sampled stuff, sout ringtone stuff and high base….and the lyrics….west-gangsta, low riders, california, money, weed… east - story tellin’, flow control, ny, ghetto streets… south - grills, rims, cars, bling…something like that….but the stori of the differences is a BIG story to tell
