Tell him/her "everything." I mean "everything." I quit smoking 15 yrs ago come this Thanksgiving (2007). Totally rule out a heart problem. Congrats on the weight loss and quitting smoking, and I hope the loss was not in a short time, that could be unhealthy. Tell the Dr. if you are short of breath, weak more quickly than normal, light headed (dizzy), FEEL your heart racing or beating irregularly. Hard to believe you have a "fast" heartbeat and a normal heart "rate". If you have to...change doctors. Preferably a doctor not affiliated with the group your current doctor belongs to.
