What is a good Drum Machine for hip hop beats?

I decided it’s time to produce my own beats. I want a machine that’ll work good and get me on the right path, but isn’t too pricey.

If you have a keyboard w/midi out, you can use it to trigger drum samples as well as play virtual instruments and automate/edit parameters on any DAW like FL Studio or Cubase.

fruity loops is the cheapest. Reason is for the professionals, but it’s pricey.

depending on what kind of hip hop you want to make, a sampler (one of the mpc series being the cheapest, but still effective), a turntable and collecting vinyl is a classic setup for an old school style.
For more modern hip hop, software (ableton, FL, Reason) is a good and cheap setup. as it will include software synths aswell as you being able to download softsynths of the net. and youll be able to do everything, drums, synths, sound effects, recording all in your computer.

You looking for a real drum machine or a program? Seems like what the others are mentioning are just computer apps. If you want the real deal get a Boss Dr. Rhythm DR 880.
