Nope. Floyd is stuck in the purgatory of greatness. That same purgatory swallowed up Larry Holmes. Before the Holmes fight, Gerry Cooney was a 6'6" Rocky Marciano, but only stronger. After the fight, Cooney was a joke, just some clumsy white guy with one arm and no chin. Whenever
Floyd humiliates the slow-handed Cotto, well, that's just because Cotto is a joke. It's never about Floyd or his performance, it's about certain people dead set against acknowledging greatness. Floyd is a lot smarter than Larry Holmes in that Mayweather isn't obsessed with winning the hearts of fans.
A smart Cotto fan wants nothing to do with Floyd Mayweather. Miguel is a dude with a bat confronting a dude with a machine gun.

I think if Maywheather want to stay in the same weight class and he beats Cotto he will be the besttttt. But if he goes up a couple of weight classes he has some serious competion,(winky rite, joe calzaghe, bernard hopkins, jermian taylor, kelly pavlik)

He got to beat more then just Cotto. He have to clear his division out. It's a bunch of top Welterweights that should get a shot!

Nothing happens because he should beat him, it's just that he should be fighting the best if he wants to be considered the best.

Than Floyd would be a step closer to greatness. ( P4P) title. He needs to go after anybody that wants to fight him not just the the fights that yield big revenues
Floyd is full of it. He states that he fights only boxer that make the most money like Oscar. "bull" Cotto is a good know boxer that can fill any casino in las Vegas, especially vs Floyd.
Margo vs Cotto are going to sell lots of tickets this summer. and Floyd is going to be hidding because he would not dear to show up for that fight.

So what we're saying here is basically Floyd is too fast and will win ? Was Leonard faster/quicker than Duran ? Exactly, he was and what happened ? He Lost. Cotto has the best jab in the business. Has anyone here even watched Cotto fight ? Floyd is going to circle right and into Cotto's left and Cotto will wear him out. He is NOT Ricky Hatton by any means. Do we think that this fight is going to resemble Cotto's fight with Gomez ? Cotto will man handle Floyd if he gets the chance.
Anyway, if he does beat Cotto he's beaten "One" of the best. Meaning Floyd has avoided this division like the plague and there are others who would give him a good fight.
Final point:
It's the governing Bodies of Boxing that has allowed this to happen. The power has always been in the hands of the promoters. Which is ridiculous. And now PBF-DLH will fight again, which I am not paying for or watching if history is any indicator PBF will win handily this time. And who wants to watch an over-matched Brit lose to PBF again, this time earlier ?

Right now Mayweather is the best but he is afraid of Cotto. He knows that Cotto has a serious chance of beating him. But if Mayweather beats him than all doubts are gone and he will be hands down the best welterweight. There will always be that what if when it comes to Floyd he has to fight Cotto. He is the best right now like i said but he has to fight Cotto to let everyone know.

First, he'll have to quit ducking Cotto. Mayweather doesn't want to fight anyone who will actually hit him. He's not a fighter, but a track star. Cotto's got enough foot and hand speed to give him fits. I don't think Mayweather could run from him for 12 rounds. However, I don't think the fight will ever happen because I think Floyd knows better than to get in the ring with someone he can't outrun.

on the technical side, mayweather would probably beat Cotto. Because of Mayweathers defense, and his speed, he would out punch cotto, land the most clean shots, but never really faze Cotto. Floyd seems like a smart techincal fighter, with unbelievable hand speed and technique, but no heart. I mean, go after these guys like Cotto. Heck, you claim to be the best, then proove it and stop ducking and hiding. Boxing is the fighting mans sport, so proove it and stand in the ring with the top challengers and go toe to toe. But we all know, Floyd wont do it. He'll punch and hold, duck and hold, slip and jab, and maybe eek out a victory. Yeah, some fighter.

If that happens hes going to be more arrogant and stupid. Im not saying hes a bad fighter, but Cotto has a really good chance of winning. First we have to see Margarito vs Cotto, and then Mayweather.
But Mayweather has a biggest enemy; himself. Hes a joke as a person and maybe that will cost him the fight, wich I will enjoy a lot.
