The Notorious B.I.G. used "conversate" in a very popular song in efforts of making it rhyme with his word flow. Because the song become such a hit, many people started to use the word as well. The correct word to use is "converse". This was well over 10 years ago but I have noticed so-called educated people using conversate in their dialogue with others. As recently as last month, I heard it used by a political pundit. I can give you one specific example. Personally I think it's terrible because of things like "buy you a drank" and other sort of sentences are just flat-out incorrectly said, and people get used to saying them that way.
