Is a heart rate of 49 beats per minute healthy for a 20 year old?
Posted by adminJul 29
I was just wondering if a heart rate of 49 beats per minute is normal. I am 5′4 weigh around 118 pounds and I don’t do any kind of sports and I have read that a low heart rate is good if your an athlete, but i am not. Should I be worried?

It isn’t startling, no. A "normal" heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute. Right now you are in what is termed bradycardia (slow heart rate), because you are on the cusp of 50, i am not concerned. if you were below 40, i would be.

Dont be worried, just means your heart is really strong,
I dont know what pounds convert to in kg but your probably a small person,
if true it means that less blood is needed to get to organs because it has less to travel, therefore less beats pm

That qualifies as bradicardia. I might have spelled that wrong. You should let your doctor know, but I don’t think it’s bad enough that you need to panic. I think 50bpm is the line for bradicardia.

so far all your answers are ridiculous. You can have a safe heart rate that low if you are a trained athlete. The usual good healthy heart rate is between 60-80
