At least this is what I found in my experience. However, if you really have a desire to learn hip hop, jump right into the beginner's class. It is OK that you don't have experience because it is a beginners class and that is expected. You'll notice that the other students are in the same boat as you. Enjoy! I know its really far off from hip hop (well it just seems that way), but ballet is really good for your core strength (aka abs) and balances. Ballet gives you an overall finish. They go over and over it, so you should catch on... just be light on your feet and have fun... you have to get into it and less loose, dont be too serious and get frustrated if you dont get it down perfect the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd time, then you are sure not to have fun.
