I was thinking of taking beginners hip-hop but I have no dance experience whatsoever?

Will it be extremely hard? I have never danced before in my life, but I want to start off with hip-hop. Do you guys think I should start off with hip-hop or jazz?

Starting with jazz would help with balance and coordination which might help with all other forms of dance. At least this is what I found in my experience. However, if you really have a desire to learn hip hop, jump right into the beginner’s class. It is OK that you don’t have experience because it is a beginners class and that is expected. You’ll notice that the other students are in the same boat as you. Enjoy!

Neither, ballet is the base of everything. I know its really far off from hip hop (well it just seems that way), but ballet is really good for your core strength (aka abs) and balances. Ballet gives you an overall finish. Take ballet for a year before you go into hip hop.

hip hop is easier if you have never taken ballet for years becase you can pop as they like to call it easier but personaly i would at least start with one ballet class because it is the fundementals of dance it actualy very fun

I actually just took my first hip hop class lastnight, it was a lot of fun! They go over and over it, so you should catch on… just be light on your feet and have fun… you have to get into it and less loose, dont be too serious and get frustrated if you dont get it down perfect the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd time, then you are sure not to have fun.

jazz for me is like a combination of ballet and hiphop (the steps not style), jazz certainly take more flexibility than hiphop, and hiphop takes more endurance
