The best free music mixer is similar to garage band, and i used it after using fruity loops, It's called "Mixcraft", created by Acoustica (http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/). Their latest version (v4) is MIDI compatible and has an excellent user interface. Fantastic deal!
