How many beats does an eighth note usually receive?

Are you serious? A whole note is a beat, a half-note is 1/2 beat, and an eighth note is, you guessed it, 1/8. As for question two, the answer would be D as well.

well i believe an eighth note is 1/8 of a whole note. so D.

I beg to differ… common-time would have 4 beats per whole-note (semibreve for the non-americans amongst us) so I make that half a beat per eighth note (quaver). Course, compound-time or a signature based on something other than a crotchet (quarter-note) would be different, but the question did say 'usually'.
And for the other question - it's a bit subjective. The answer is that digital recording is quantized - for example the volume of a note can be 4 or 5, but not 4.6324 - so given your options above, I'd go for C - mainly by elimination.

a quarter note has one beat, therefore an eighth not has a half of a beat
that is for sure but sorry i dont know the other one
