How do you use Audacity to record tracks by rapping over instrumentals?

hey,I just downloaded Audacity version 1.2.5 and i want to record audio tracks by rapping over instrumentals,but somehow i just cant get it done properly,ma voice aint coming clear on it,can anybody tell me how to record proper so i can put out a good track?

import the beat, play it through the headphones and record your voice on its own track. then mix the levels to where they need to be to sound good with each other.

put your instrumental on audacity, put some headphones in and hit record. be loud and clear and you should get a good but not brilliant outcome
