   There are usually local producers that work with up and coming rappers. These producers often have in home studios and they mix beats and often rap themselves. But they also will provide beats to friends or fellow group members and other rappers in the community. This is the case in Houston. Then once someone is signed, the can choose from a library of beats to use. Up and coming producers also sell their beats to big labels as a chance to make it big this way, too. Often times, when one artist makes it, you will see several of his friends/group members start to come up too - it’s always who you know!

   They sell crack and cocaine. gather up enough funds and higher super producers such as Neptunes and Timbaland.

   You rap over already made beats, send tapes to A&R’s, and get signed. They don’t care about a beat, they care about flow. If you get put on, then usually a producer will want to work with YOU.

   i create all my own beats, and sell em when i can, the best way is to create them yourself, that way you get your own flavor

   Make your own or find someone who will make you some from cheap.

   Me and my band made our own when we started.
