How can I get beats to write my own songs?

You see, I wanted to be an actor, but I realized how much I love to sing. I think that I have a good enough voice for me to become a singer. I have wrote 2 songs but I need to know how I can get or make beats. Thank you for any information!!!

As a Dj, I use a Beat Machine or Drum Machine (alot of different names). Its like a professional mixer that has squares on it and each square corresponds with a different beat. You can connect it to your computer and record the beat.
Alot of muscians that I work with record with Guitar, and piano, recording them straight to the computer.
