Is it me or is Hip-hop the only genre where you have to be a certain race & class to "have the right’ to listen to it. Like people say only poor black people should listen to it.
Im native american, and people look at me weird whenever I play Hip-Hop…

No, of course 90% of rappers r black though. You don’t have to be of a certain race to listen to rap. The vast majority of people who listen to rap r white kids in the suburbs. I don’t really like rap personally, but anyone who wants to listen to it can.

Your question, although worded oddly, is one that has been a question for scholars that study the genre. Unfortunately, it seems that hip-hop is tied to race a lot of the time, but it was born out of a culture that was oppressed by "the white man." It’s sentiments towards those in power, mainly "white people," is going to be negative because the music was a reaction to the problems that "white people" caused.
Native American’s faced a lot of oppression too man, so hip-hop is a great music to listen to.

Ha ha, that’s not true.
I’m black and Native American mixed, and I like rock music.
People think I’m weird for it too, but so what.
People are just shallow.
Listen to what you like, who cares what people think. ^_^
