FL Studio is ok.
I hear Protools is good
Either way you’ll want drumpad and/or a midi keyboard

1st you’re gonna wanna drop 2 grand or so on an Akai or MPC.
Or find one at a pawn shop, or online at craigslist.org or ebay.com. Way cheaper/used
Then you’re gonna need turntables if you’re gonna be using samples in your beats.
A sh!t ton of USB and AV cords.
A good computer with an excellent soundcard. The higher powered the better.
If you wanna make synthesized beats you’ll want a mini Korg, or Korg keyboard. Maybe somethin cheaper like a Yamaha.
Or if you wanna make unprofessional, fxck-around beats, just get Fruity Loops or Hammerhead. 9th Wonder makes his on Fruity Loops and you can’t tell.

all you need is fl studio and some good soundpacks, ya it helps to have a mpc ora midi keyboard, (i do) but ive heard alota fire beats around here, like ridiculosly good pro leval made just on a PC, learn how to use samples, i love to, and try 2 get plugins more then packs, you end up using them alot more, cood you do me a favor and add my music page and let me know what you think of my stuff? id really apreciate it, i need honest opinions from ppl outside of my city,

Dude…you need to start simple and get a small keyboard and cheap, simple software (www.beatmakinghq.com). Once you’re decent then invest in the high-end equipment. Don’t just throw away money before you’ve tested your skills.
