Songs like this are especially degrading and ignorant. I see stuff like this and it makes me disappointed in the black community as a whole. The fact that this kind of "music" is common and widely accepted disgusts me.

Reppin: the fact that Wu Tang clan doesn’t have half naked women in their videos isn’t a reason in and of itself to give your support to them. Most of the members are convicted felons and the do nothing but perpetrate the ignorant "ghetto"black stereotype. If we black men can’t respect ourselves enough to get an education and make something of ourselves and if we can’t respect our women enough to treat them first and foremost like ladies instead of b****es and hos then how can we expect the rest of the world to take us seriously?

As for the video you posted, well I’d probably consider what he said more if he didn’t sound like such an educated moron. I give the boy much respect for taken care of his little girl but he has a long way to go before he learns what it really means to be a man. None of this changes my opinion of him or the fact that I believe that he and other rappers like him are only hurting other African-Americans. the gangsta lifestyle is not something to idolize. We should be doing everything we can to get away from that image and start becoming serious citizens. Go ahead and enjoy your music but just realize that no one can and will take you seriously when that’s the lifestyle you live and look up to.
