Go to a local music store like Guitar Center and talk to the guys who work in the headphones area and see what they recommend. If you want some kick ass phones for $250+, look at Grado Labs. Unbelievable sound. The beats by dre are to bass driven and will hurt ya if you are trying to resample music. Nope, they are not. And I guess you can hear a little more than with like ipod headphones but it's not an amazing difference & the base isn't really that strong unless their turned up very loud / pretty much the whole way but you will go deaf believe me. They cancel out noise well but it leaks like crazy if your sittin in a class room everyone will know what your listening to at a loud volume. Put it this way if you got 350 to blow get em their more of a show off thing anyways. The white ones are sleek But if you could invest that money towards like a car payment or a new guitar I won't get them their not that great.
