I am looking for some inexpensive or free programs for the computer where you can mix music, create beats and instrumentals, and change audio. what are some good programs like this, and where can i buy or download them? also are these free ones worth my time and safe from viruses?

I’m listening to some of my favorite rap songs on my iPod. I keep hearing this heavy bass, well, a bump almost i guess. I write music for piano and such but that doesn’t matter. If someone could please tell me what that sound is called, and/or how to produce the sound on a computer, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

It’s from a rap song, but I don’t know what song or who it’s by. It’s not Ludacris and Rick Ross’ "down in the dirty south to be exact, getting money is a well known fact."
