How do you get better at freestyle hip hop dancing?

hey. I’m a hip hop dancer. I’m okay at choreography but am absolutely horrible at free styling. have you got any tips to help me improve or know how i can improve? or know any sites or videos that can teach me? for all you freestylers, how did you learn how to do it properly?
