I’d like to start hip hop, but I’ve been told by my friend that you need to take ballet first, or you’ll have a really hard time in a hip hop class. Is this true, or can I just sign up for a beginners’ hip hop class? I’ve never taken a dance class before..but I have a little dance experience from musicals.

I ask because it seems that once a rapper hits the mainstream, hip hop heads dont like them much after that.
