I'm 18 and have had very little dance experience…is hip hop harder than other styles of dance? How easy is it to pick up the techniques and steps? I've seen some youtube videos of beginner classes and I also want to know how much content is typically in each class session as I think I'm slow at remembering steps.

I know how to do it, where to touch and how to feel. What I don't know is how to count the beats. The heart goes ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom. Do you count every beat, or just the main beats?

Like:

ba-boom
ba-boom
ba-boom
ba-boom

Would that be 4 beats or 8 beats?
